Based in London, he performs throughout the U.K. and teaches at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, St Giles' International Organ School and Birmingham Conservatoire. Educated in Manchester, Oxford (where he gained the Fellowship diploma of the Royal College of Organists with three prizes) and Amsterdam, Daniel has previously held posts at Chetham's School of Music, Coventry Cathedral and the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester. In addition to workshops and masterclasses for various organ courses, he examines for the R.C.O and the A.B.R.S.M. His articles on performance practice and performance-related topics have appeared in various organ journals and he broadcasts frequently on the BBC. He is also the Artistic Director of the London Organ Day. Recent and forthcoming engagements include profile concerts in the U.K. and Australia, a tour of Switzerland and France with the Kammerorchester Basel (as soloist in a Handel Organ Concerto), choir accompaniments and BBC broadcasts, directing and tutoring on various national organ courses and the launch of three recordings (two DVDs and a CD). He was the organist on BBC's "Songs of Praise" on Christmas Day 2011 and 1st January 2012 from the Royal Albert Hall. _____________________________________________________________________ ![]() Morris Pert Piano recital by Mark Spalding Music of Morris Pert(1947-2010) Dundee University Chaplaincy Centre Thursday 9 February 2012 7.30 p.m. Admission £5 (£3.50 concessions) Mark Spalding plays a programme of piano music from the 1970s and 2000s by Arbroath born composer Morris Pert who, besides working as a session musician with the likes of Kate Bush and Mike Oldfield, completed 3 symphonies and much concert and electronic music.
